TIKO – Following Tiko Council’s emergence as the South West Regional Champion in the 2026 Clean City Contest, the Mayor of Tiko Council, HRH Dr. Peter Ikome Mesoso III, on Monday, July 20, 2026, chaired a strategic meeting to prepare for the upcoming 2026 National Clean City Contest.

The meeting brought together the Fourth Deputy Mayor, Waindim Rudolf, the Chief of General Affairs, Mrs. Coretta Etugengolle Makia, Chiefs of Services and Bureaus, as well as staff from the Technical Services, Town Planning, and Hygiene and Sanitation Departments.

The working session focused on strategies to enhance Tiko Council’s performance at the national level. Participants presented proposals and practical recommendations aimed at strengthening sanitation, environmental management, and overall readiness for the competition.

Having secured the title of South West Regional Clean City Champion for 2026, Tiko Council is now setting its sights on improving its fourth-place national ranking, achieved during the 2023 National Clean City Contest.

Addressing participants, Mayor HRH Dr. Peter Ikome Mesoso III urged Council workers to demonstrate commitment, discipline, and professionalism as field activities officially commenced on July 20, 2026.

He emphasized that teamwork, effective service delivery, and active community participation would be essential in positioning Tiko Municipality to win the coveted national clean city trophy.

The Mayor reaffirmed the Council’s determination to build on its recent achievements and continue promoting a cleaner, healthier, and more attractive municipality for residents and visitors alike.
